First, make sure you have your Trezor device, USB cable, and a computer. If you haven’t already purchased a Trezor, choose one of our two models:
Trezor Model One: The original and highly trusted model for most major cryptocurrencies.
Trezor Model T: Our advanced model with a touchscreen and expanded coin support.
This is where the magic begins! Visit Trezor.io/start to download Trezor Suite, the official app to manage your cryptocurrency securely. Trezor Suite is available on desktop for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Once you have Trezor Suite installed:
Connect your Trezor device to your computer using the USB cable.
Open Trezor Suite, and follow the on-screen prompts to get started.
For your first-time setup, your Trezor device will prompt you to install the latest firmware. This step is essential for security, so be sure to update if prompted.
In Trezor Suite, choose to create a new wallet. This will generate your unique recovery seed – a series of 12, 18, or 24 words that are critical for recovering your funds if the device is lost or damaged.
Important: Write down your recovery seed on the card provided with your Trezor and keep it in a safe place. Never share this seed online or with anyone.
After setting up your wallet, you’ll be prompted to create a PIN. Choose a strong PIN to protect your device from unauthorized access. If you want extra security, consider setting a passphrase as an additional layer of protection.
With your Trezor set up and secured, it’s time to add cryptocurrency accounts. Trezor Suite makes it easy to add, send, and receive supported coins. Go to “Accounts” and add accounts for the cryptocurrencies you wish to store.
Now that everything is set up, you can:
Send and receive cryptocurrency directly from Trezor Suite.
Track your portfolio and watch your assets grow.
